TNC comments: ECDC3.6 Noise bylaw Review – Proposed Amendments
GENERAL COMMENTS
The week given for review of the MLS report is insufficient given the complexity of the issues and the many changes proposed to the current bylaw and the lack of sufficient explanations for the changes, some totally new.
The proposed amendments must be tabled at this time until the stakeholders have had a chance to meet with the ML&S staff to understand their rationale for some of their proposals and bring to their attention the shortcomings of many of their proposed amendments and provide better solutions. TNC members have been working on this bylaw for 4 years so there is no need to rush this through without properly completing consultation. Regrettably, ML&S seems to be simply going through the motions with the community consultations and then ultimately decided to make their proposed amendments based on what was convenient for the ML&S staff and not necessarily what is best for the residents of the City.
